In MLA style, the list of works cited, also called a reference list or bibliography, appears at the end of your article. In place of the author element, write three em dashes for each source listed after Basic Book Citation Format. The in-text citation of a book includes the author's last name, the year, and, if available, a page number. In the reference list, start with the author's last name and initials, followed by the year. The title of the book is written in capitals only the first word and any proper nouns. Include any others before writing a reference letter. Before you agree to write the letter, make sure you feel you can write a positive reference letter for this person. If you don't know the person well or are unfamiliar with them, common examples include "Sincerely", "Regards", or "Regards". Consistency with tone: Make sure the closing salutation matches the overall tone of your letter. If your letter is very formal, a conclusion like “Sincerely” is appropriate. For a slightly less formal tone, “Sincerely” may be a good choice. The reference list starts on a new page, after your assignment and before any annexes. Place the word References centered, in bold, at the top of the page. APA does not require other formatting for the title of your reference page such as underlining, but check with your professor. Each entry in the reference list therefore has a hanging indent. References for Janet Dolan. John Killeny. Human Resources Director. Allston Industries. Street.
