Gender-based violence, or violence against women and girls, VAWG, is a global pandemic that affects women throughout their lives. The numbers are staggering: 35% of women worldwide have written an essay on crime against women. The problem of crime against women is a global problem. One in three women in the world are victims of physical or sexual violence during their lifetime. This means that around a billion women are affected by this problem. Rape, domestic violence, sexual assault and murder are the main issues. Here are ten ways to make a difference, safely and with impact. 1. Listen and believe survivors. When a woman tells her story of violence, she takes the first step in breaking the cycle of violence. It’s up to all of us to give her the safe space she needs to express herself and be heard. This violence is rooted in gender discrimination, stereotypes and social norms that allow such violence. Violence has decreased thanks to efforts to protect survivors and prevent the disastrous effects it has on women. Eliminate cultures that impose violence and stereotypes present in our country,
